Circular construction

Recently the Polish sustainable economy knowledge Institute Innowo (Polish Circular Hotspot) publicized a report on circular construction. The report elaborates on the prospects for introducing circularity in the construction sector in Poland, using Dutch examples as benchmarks for future developments in Poland.

The leaders of e-mobility change in the Polish market are far from obvious. They include some start-up companies and small and medium-sized Polish municipalities. It is these stakeholders who push the boundaries of what is possible. From e-mobility to autonomous vehicles, local leaders will continue to set new standards and test new solutions. They are open to new solutions and new ideas. These are the business partners to look for.

Polish vegetable and fruit production

Where the Polish fresh fruit and vegetable market developed well in 2017, the estimates for the harvest of 2018 show some interesting developments. For different reasons, both the vegetable and fruit market faced a difficult year in 2018. The vegetable market saw a decrease in harvests due to drought, whereas the fruit sector was faced with large harvests (such as for apples and plums) with subsequent difficulties to match supply with demand resulting in low prices.

Dairy in Poland

Poland has good agro-climatic conditions for milk production and has price-cost competitive advantages. Currently, Poland has approximately 130,000 dairy farms with approximately 2,3 million cows. Wielkopolska and Podlaskie are the two voivodships with the strongest presence of dairy production and processing facilities.

Poolse varkenssector

De varkenssector is één van de belangrijkste branches van de Poolse landbouwsector en heeft ook een belangrijke sociale positie. Gunstige natuurlijke omstandigheden, het grote aandeel in de commerciële productie, de werkgelegenheid, evenals een hoge varkensvleesconsumptie hebben Polen ertoe gebracht 2,5-2,8 miljoen ton varkensvlees te produceren. het is daarmee  één van de grootste producenten in de EU.

De Poolse landbouwgrond laat zich kenmerken door een grote mate van zanderigheid in combinatie met een lagere beschikbaarheid van fosfaat, nitraat, kalium en organische stof. Het gemiddelde organische-stofgehalte ligt in Polen op 2,2%, maar 60% van de grond heeft minder dan 2% humus. Daarnaast wordt historisch gezien in Polen veel kunstmest gebruikt, maar er is steeds meer aandacht voor het op peil houden van het organische-stofgehalte. Een Poolse boer geeft gemiddeld ongeveer 20% van zijn opbrengsten uit aan kunstmest.
